Trying harder!

I have been a really bad, horrible blogger! I need to try and blog at least once a week to keep everyone updated!! Not really sure where to begin....

Chris and I have started playing co-ed volleyball every Friday night, it is fun but would probably be a little more fun if we could start winning!! I blame it all on the guys!

Chris threw my a surprise 30th birthday party, and it was a success, I had no idea at all!! Thank you to everyone that came to help me celebrate, especially to all my friends and family that came from out of town.

Riley is doing awesome, school is great and keeps getting very good report cards! He started basketball about a month ago and has a BIG tournament the last Sunday in February....schools from the cities are coming down for this so it is a pretty big deal to Riley and his coach (his dad).

Keegan.....well, he is another story! He is talking up a storm and his vocabulary is getting to be so good. Potty training. What's that? We are going no where on it, and I am okay with it. He will get it. Eventually. He knows when he has to go, and will take the time to go as long as he has nothing else going on that second. He is still a sick little boy, in the last 3 1/2 months he was been sick 4 times from anywhere to 5-7 days. 105 temps, vomiting and diarrhea. I took him in about a month ago and was in tears, telling the Dr. that I have had it. He finally ran a bunch of tests, blood work, X-Rays and everything. I got a call that night saying he had an enlarged liver and needed to come back ASAP for ultrasounds. We went back the next morning and got ultrasounds done...I cried for two days. Of course I googled it, even though I know I shouldn't of...but I did. I called my sister up.... probably not a good idea either!! She already had a benefit set up in her head and told me she would give KG part of her liver. Well, we got results back two days later saying it looked fine so there were no worries!! Now Summer can keep her liver!! The Dr. referred us to a specialist from the University Of Minnesota, so we see her next Thursday and to be honest, I can not wait!!

Other then that...all is good in the Hulke house!

School started on Tuesday and Riley could have not been more excited!! Hard to believe he is already in third grade. Time flies by so quickly. He has changed so much in the last year, it is amazing to watch. Keegan on the other hand was not so excited about Riley going to school, he cried. Last weekend Riley went camping with a friend and when they drove off with Riley in the car, Keegan screamed and started chasing after the vehicle. Chris and I then went and bought a new mattress and gave Riley our old queen and Keegan got moved from his toddler bed to Riley's old twin bed. When we brought the twin into Keegan's room, he flipped out yelling "NOOO, RILEY'S BED" and crying. When I finally explained to him that we are not getting rid of Riley and that he got a new bed, he was fine!! Riley and Keegan have there moments with one another, but for the most part Riley is an amazing older bother and is over protective of his little brother. Riley, I wish you all the luck in the world this year in thrid grade and we are so proud of you! I know you will shine. We love you to the moon and back!!

It has been way to long, there has been too much stuff going on to even post about!! We had a fun April celebrating lots of fun things!! We had Keegan's 2nd birthday party and Riley's 8th birthday party on the same day, almost all of the family came and the boys had a blast! Its hard to believe that Riley is 8 already and almost in the 3rd grade!! I am thinking that 8 years old comes with attitude though :)
Riley is getting ready for Mayba this Summer again. He will be playing in Mankato on Monday and Wednesday evenings, that always gives us something to look forward too!! He just finished up basketball about a month ago, he played every Sat for about three months! I hate to brag, but mannnnn was he good!! We had the coach tell us so many times how great Riley was and that he had really good skills!! A coach down in Iowa saw him play too and was real surprised that he was only in second grade!!
And then there is Keegan...his name fits him to a T! "Little fierce one" that is all Keegan! He is always on the go and always causing some sort of trouble!! He used the potty chair last night, only because Riley helped him...but he still did it! He has been in a big boy bed for over a month now, it was really hard at first but he is finally used to it!! He had learned to crawl out of his crib so we had no choice :(
Chris and I both have different jobs now, our schedules are a little different and don't allow us much time together but in the end it will be work it!! Chris is the finance manager at KIA in Mankato!! And I just recently accepted a position as a Support Living Coordinator/Supervisor with the Harry Meyering Center, I no longer have to work NIGHTS, WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS!! YAY!!!! And I get to chose my own hours which is really nice, I don't think you can get any better then that!!

Happy 2nd Birthday to our baby!! I can't believe how fast time has gone! If you ask Keegan how old he is, he will say three... we then say, no two! He yells back...NO FIVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! So we leave it at that ;) I will post some pictures later on today!

Christmas 09

Sorry it has been two months since I have posted...... we have been without a computer so I have not been able to do anything!! We finally bought a new laptop a couple weeks ago!! Here is a picture of the boys I took the beginning of December for our family pictures.... the picture turned out really well!! I surprised we got one with everyone looking at the camera!
The boys had a wonderful christmas, I am glad it is all over with though!! My Mom came the Wednesday before Christmas eve and spent the night. Riley had his Church program on Christmas eve, after that we came home and ate the WONDERFUL meal that my mom and Chris made....it was awesome!! Mom got stranding another night, we all had fun and enjoyed her company for three days!!! Christmas Day morning she got out and was able to make it back to Fairmont, we spent the day next door for the Hulke Christmas!! It was nice, and was better that we just had to walk across the yard!! Both boys were so fun to watch, Riley was thankful for everything and Keegan would open his presents and gasp at each gift he got...so cute!!!

Keegan, who is still sick went to bed last night at 7pm.....it is now 11:15 am and he is still sound asleep. I keep going in there every 15 minutes to check on him. Whatever he has, has really hit him hard and hopefully this 16 + hours of sleep will do him good and he is sleeping off all of his sickness.......

Has had a bad month :( He has been sick for a month now..... He started out with Roseola, he had a temp of 104 and when it finally broke his little tummy and back broke out in a rash. His temp continued on and off throughout the next couple weeks and along with that came spots on his body....he had all together about 15 throughout his whole body. Started out looking like pimples and then turned into scab looking things. On Friday he developed a cough and his temp spiked back up that night. I told Chris I thought he had the Croup. On Saturday afternoon his temp was at 102, so I decided to take him to Urgent Care at the clinic. Bad idea. I always walk out of there with no answers.... They told me it was probably just viral...go figure. I worked Saturday night and on Sunday morning when I come home Chris said he was up all night coughing. Gave him some meds and just let him be lazy all day. Keegan and I fell asleep on the couch late afternoon, and when I woke up, Keegan was on fire..... his temp was 103, I came upstairs to get him some meds and Chris started yelling at me to come and check out Keegan, he was having a really hard time breathing....kind of struggling actually. The look on Chris and Rileys face made me panic. Chris was so worried and Riley was crying because he thought his little brother was going to die.... I threw him in the car and off the the E.R. we went. Sure enough, just like I diagnosed....THE CROUP and possible chicken pox. The gave him some steroids to open up his throat and airway to help him breath and monitored him for about an hour. He came home and he went right to bed....I came home from work on Monday morning and went to get Keegan and his was as white as a ghost and freezing cold, I am not sure what that was about but it sure scared me.....and now this morning, temp of 102. He is napping at the moment, but I am praying that he gets better soon. I disinfected the whole house today! Hoping it works. My poor baby.

A couple days before Halloween we carved pumpkins!! It was fun, minus Keegan crying the whole time!! He tried eating the pumpkins, so we finally gave him a popsicle...that seemed to work great!! Riley had fun and won the award for 'best pumpkin!!"

18 months!

Keegan had his 18 month check up today!! So glad to hear that he is all done with shots until his is in Kindergarten!! YAY.......
He did really well and of course Dr. Knudson says he is "Perfect" with quit the sense of humor!! He has labeled him as "Right brained" we were talking about his vocabulary. Keegan can say about 15 words.

But he only uses Hi, Uh-oh and Daddy consistently. Dr. K said that children that are 'Right Brained' say a bunch of words but do not use them, that he is taking everything in and around age 2 to 2 1/2 they generally start just using sentences. He also said that 'Right Brained' people usually are very humorous and comical (Which I have been saying for the last 6 months) they are very artistic and they love music and love to dance!! All signs point to Keegan with what he described!! I would definitely say Riley would be 'Left Brained' it is all actually really interesting to learn about!!

This week was homecoming!! Who doesn't love homecoming??? Riley had a blast dressing up this week, we didn't do Monday because Riley was sick last Thursday and Friday so we weren't sure what the day was....it was crazy hair day!! Tuesday was nerd day....I worried over that one, I just wasn't sure how to dress Riley as a nerd, since I am pretty hip and cool...but then I thought back to high school and I remembered what my sisters looked like every morning so then it was pretty easy. I went to grab my camera and wouldn't you know...it wasn't working. Go figure. Welcome to my world. Wednesday was PJ day, man do I love that day. It cuts 15 minutes off our time in the morning!! Thursday was class color day, of course the 2nd graders had to be WHITE....agh, I was pretty sure he wouldn't come home that color!! And today was Raider day, I went and got blue hair color for Riley's hair and black paint to paint #12 (Shawn Murhpy) and #7 (Jordan Rudenick) on his cheeks, I went to get a picture and guess what..my camera worked!! But now of course I cant get it to download. So there will be pictures shortly!!!

Saturday night I took the boys to McDonald's in St. Peter for supper and to play in play land!! We had a blast. I told Chris we need to do that once a month, the kids had so much fun!! We were there for a couple hours, an hour of that was Keegan eating!! :) I noticed that they had to be three to play, but I figured with Riley's help, Keegan would do fine!!! The first time going up Keegan had a lot of trouble and there was a line forming behind him, so Riley just pulled him!! HA, it was cute!! After that Keegan did just fine by himself. Riley made five friends in those two short hours!! As we were leaving all of them were high fiving each other and saying goodbye using first names!! Who knew you could have so much fun at McDonald's!?!?

My wonderful, WONDERFUL mother decided that she would bring up a BIG tub of all my high school things to my house for me to keep so she could get rid of it. Now I just have more crap to put in storage. Riley and I were going through everything, and I will have to say that some of it was neat to see again!! Anyways, we were looking at all my sport stuff and decided Riley would look really cool if he wore all of my buttons from 7th grade on up, and he was sporting my softball hat too!! I always new he would pick the better school......MCW!!

Please don't click on any of the pictures to make them bigger, you will notice in some that I have HUGE glasses, braces and slicked back hair. Really Mom??? Did you really think I looked cute???? How embarrassing.

Recently Keegan has learned how to take his shirt off, its great! Not really. We went for a walk the other day and when we got home I looked at him and he had his shirt half off!! So, when you are driving through town and you happen to see a half naked 1 1/2 year old, don't be afraid, its just my boy. And YES, I do realize it is getting colder and he continues to run around with his clothes off.....if you don't like it, close your eyes. This boy is ALL HULKE.....I think he has been watching his Grandpa Rick one too many times. Lets keep the clothes on boys!!!

The other day Riley and I noticed a FEW leaves in our yard.....so we decided to rake them and jump in them!! It was fun, even though there were hardly any to jump in (we only have one tree in our yard) but the boys enjoyed themselve!!

A little late on posting this....BUT, daycare went great last week!! When Chris and I went to drop him off on Monday he just stood there with his blanket and stared at us and everything around him! He got hit in the cheek on his first day...but other then that it went ok. Tuesday-Thursday were a little different, he cried and screamed when we got into the door :( They said after five minutes after I left he was fine. It is funny to walk in there and pick him up and see him sitting at a table and a chair eating taco salad. I still picture him as a 'baby' it breaks my heart!!! He has school pictures next week..HA!! They are kind of expensive for this age, or for all ages...it is actually kind of a joke, but how can you say no??! You can't.

Riley had a great day in 2nd grade!! He told me that he would love school so much more if he could have Mr. Murphy be his teacher until he graduates!!! He has so many stories to tell about him already and we are only on day 3!! Excited to see what the year will bring!

Riley had decided that he wanted pancakes and bacon for his first day, so I made him just that. I even made the pancakes the shape of an "R" and a "2" I was so proud of them that I decided I would take a picture of Riley with his pancakes......only to find out that the camera was DEAD. :(

So I could not get any of him that morning. Chris and I always take him to his classroom on the first day of school too and get a picture by his locker......guess not this year. When he got home from school he had a completely different outfit...so I had him change real quick so I could get some pictures, he wasn't too happy with me (What is new?)

He was so tired and crabby when he got home, it was hilarious!!! As you can tell from the first picture!! HA.

We bought Keegan a potty chair yesterday and thought we would try it out!!! I have no intentions of starting to potty train, but just thought I would put it out so he becomes familiar with it!! He does let me know after he goes in his diaper, so that is why we bought it too!!! I am sure we will have this out for another two years!!!!

I'm headed off to daycare.

Yes, it is true. After much talk, Chris and I decided to put Keegan into Daycare. PART TIME. He will start daycare at the school, and will go from 8-12 Monday through Friday every other week. I am proud to say that for 18 months I got to keep my baby home with me and spend every day with him. Some days were harder then others, some days we would both sit there and I would hold him and we both would cry. Some days trying to function on 2 hours of sleep isn't as easy as you think. It was easier when he was little, but now that he is a 'toddler' it isn't as easy. I work nine overnights in a row, 11pm to 7am. Chris and I both sacrifice so much to do what is best for our kids. As little sleep as I was getting, some nights weren't so good for Chris either. A part of me is nervous to let him go, a part of me thinks that I failed. But I need to remember it will be good for the both of us.... And little Keegan, you are going to make SO MANY new friends. We love you to the moon and back.

Riley is coming!! He is outside playing/practicing football all the time. The big boys are teaching him a few things too!! He doesn't want to play touch football, he wants to get down and dirty and get right in there in all the action!! No matter what.....Riley, I will always be your #1 fan!!! Rainy Lake

A couple weeks ago my mom and I packed up the boys and journeyed off in the car for a miserable six hour up to International falls to visit all of our family!! Keegan did not so much care for that long of a trip and didn't sleep a wink....ugh. But once we reached our destination we had a GREAT TIME!! We stayed with my aunt and uncle, Darlene and Babe, who have a beautiful house on Rainy Lake. We go every summer and it is always a nice time with too much, wonderful food!! Riley got to drive his first boat, and Keegan took his first boat ride. I think he liked it, he even feel asleep!! Babe took Riley and I out on the tube....he dumped me a couple times, I forgot how strong you need to be to ride on a tube!! I had a hard time getting back on the tube once I fell off......really, have you ever tried getting on a tube in the middle of a lake?? Not so easy. I had to swim to the boat and Babe grabbed my arm and by brother-in-law grabbed my leg and picked me up and got me back on!! Wasn't too attractive!! HA. I do want to thank Darlene and Babe for EVERYTHING....for letting all eight of us stay with you, for the great food, for the drinks and for the sweatshirt!! You have no idea how much we all appreciate you guys. You have been there for Mom, Amber, Summer and myself so much since my Dad has died and I can't express enough what it means to me. I know Dad appreciates everything you two do...... We love you!!!

Even Benny Sapp from the Vikings, #22, would agree with me!!

Today my sister-in-law and my brother-in-law came down to meet me and the boys for lunch and then head over to the Vikings training camp!! We didn't really stay too long, it was extremely hot and I, of course, forgot the stoller and sun screen!! We got there really early and stood by a bunch of people yelling at the players as they drove past in their bikes of autograghs. We figured we weren't going to get any anyways so we decided to head to Cold Stone and get the boys ice cream before practice started!! Keegan had on a Vikings onesie with matching pants but it was so hot so I took his pants off and had him walk around in just his onesie and crocs, plus before we left Riley wanted his hair in a Mohawk so I did both their hair like that!! It was so cute, their Dad didn't really think so though!!! :)

Anyways, as we are walking to get ice cream, I was staring at Keegan and then I heard this voice say "Oh, he is so cute!!" I looked up and it was #22, Benny Sapp, a starter for the Vikings!! So I asked him then if he wanted HIS picture taken with KEEGAN, not the other way around!!! He kinda looked at me and said sure and turned his bike around and came over to me and grabbed Keegan and put him on his lap!! I am sure I looked like an idiot because I was laughing and yelling for Riley and Sam to get over here and get in the picture!! Keegan was screaming at one point, but Benny kept pointing out pictures to Keegan and eventually he quit crying!!! It was an amazing experience for the boys and AJ. So next time you are watching the vikings and you see #22 with the ball in his hand, picture that ball to be my son.

P.S. I am sure it was my sister-in-law, AJ, that caught his attention...not my cute little boy!!! :)

Valleyfair

Riley and I decided to take a little trip to Valleyfair. My Mom, Sister and her daughter joined us for the weekend! We went up the night before and stayed with my sister-in-law, even though she had two mean cats, we managed to still have a good time. Monday morning we got up and AJ watched Keegan and the five of us headed to the park. We had so much fun!! Riley is now tall enough that he can go on every ride there!!! It was a blast and I can't wait for next year!

Last picture is my FAVORITE!! Isn't he just cute?? Anyways, we had Keegans 15 month appointment last week. He did really well! Had two shots and goes back when he is 18-20 months old and those will be the last of his shots for awhile!! YAY!!!

Here are a few picture from Friendship days!! I know I am really late posting this...but I have had issues with our computer and just finding the time to download these!! Riley and Keegan LOVED all the rides!! Riley loved the tilt-a-whirl but hated the zipper that I MADE him go on!! I really wanted to go on it but didn't want to go by myself...I told Riley he would LOVE it...yeah, he cried the whole time!!! Keegan really enjoyed the cars, it was so cute!! I was cooking supper the other night and Riley and Keegan were downstairs playing. Riley had come upstairs and it sounded really quite downstairs for Keegan to be down there....I asked Riley why he left Keegan downstairs by himself...he said that he didnt that he was upstairs?!!? Chris and I went running to all of the rooms and Riley had downstairs and started SCREAMING for us to come down. We ran into the computer room and this what we found. Keegan climbed up the chair, into the desk and made himself comfortable on the lab top and at one point had the mouse to his ear like he was talking!!! It was so cute, but needless to say......the computer room door stays shut from now on!!

The other day Riley was at a sleep over at his friends house, he came home that next morning looking awfully tired....I had asked him to go and put something in Keegans room, after about 20 minutes of me yelling his name and trying to find him, this is what I found!! Riley has started baseball!! YAY!!! He plays every Tuesday and Thursday in Mankato, so if you are ever in the area stop out and watch him play! He is AWESOME and loves to have fans!! After this week they throw away the Tee and have pitchers.... should be interesting, but Riley hits better off a pitcher then with the Tee, have I mentioned how awesome he plays..... you would be VERY impressed!! The picture of him holding the bat smiling at me?? Yeah, that was not an easy picture to get... and the only reason he is smiling is because I just got done threatening him that if he did not look at me and smile I would run out on the field!! I got a glare right before the smile :) And of course we can not go to a game without a bunch of snacks packed for Keegan!!

Here are a few photos of Riley!! Tomorrow is his last day of 1st grade, hard to believe that he is going to be in 2nd grade already!! He is the smartest little boy ever! Riley may have his moments, but he really has a heart of gold and always wants to make sure everyone is happy! Chris walked into his room the other night and Riley was sitting there looking at his year book from preschool and was crying, when Chris asked him what was the matter he looked up at him with tears running down his face and said "Dad, it is just so sad. I am growing up too fast and getting so big" when Chris told me that, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. I am so excited to be able to stay home with this summer! We have lots of trips planned!! He started baseball this summer already.... two days a week again in Mankato, every Tuesday and Thursday! He has had 3 weeks of practice and it is amazing how good all of those little boys are, completely different from last year! This year they actually have a pitcher and are not hitting off the Tee! Should be interesting.... But I have no doubt in my mind that he will be hitting a home run every time!!

So I know I have been horrible at posting latley!! I am making up by it with posting a lot of pictures!! Here are just a few of Keegan, our trouble maker...he is in to everything and if he knows he is not suppose to do it, he will look over at you to make sure you are looking before he pulls it off the shelf!! I got out the slip n slid a few times and the sprinkler for the boys..Keegan hates it when it is going, but as soon as you shut it off he is sitting in a puddle of water! I think I might go to Mankato tomorrow and look into buying him a little pool!! The picture of him looking out the window is something he does almost everyday when Riley gets home from school....he waits and looks out the window, and when he sees his brother walking up he gets really excited!!

I was going through some old pictures and I came across this picture of Riley taken on his first birthday!! I was trying to compare the two....it is all I hear is "Oh my gosh, Keegan looks JUST like Riley" Well...um, I don't really see it!! I laugh looking at Riley's picture, he was round and stocky!! Here are a few pictures of Riley's birthday party with his friends!!!! He had every boy in the first grade class come over and spend the night!! We had 10 seven year olds over! I did deserve the "Mother of the year" award that night! We went through 4 pizzas, 3 bags of popcorn, 2 packages of cookies a half gallon of ice cream and a large container of Hawaiian punch!! As you can tell, I never got a good picture of all the boys!! They all had so much fun, it was well worth it at 10am on Sunday morning!!

Happy 7th Birthday to my baby!!! It is so hard to believe that my little boy is so grown! He turned 7 the 16th of April and he was sooo excited!! He sang "Happy Birthday" to himself all day! Then we met grandpa Rick at Riley's favorite restaurant for supper! OLD COUNTRY BUFFET!! The pictures are a little backwards but the last picture is of Riley holding a pencil sharpener, when my Mom came up that is what she gave him for his birthday!! You could see a little disappointment in his face but he didn't say anything. My mom was getting ready to leave and we walked her to her car and she popped the trunk and had Riley go and shut it......and there was his NEW BIKE!!! He was so happy, but he did comment to us that he was fine with just the pencil sharpener too, because he really needed that for school!!!! What a good boy!!

We took the boys to Chucky Cheese for their birthdays and got a hotel with a water park! We meet Chris family at Chucky Cheese......got all sorts of pictures of both boys opening their gifts, smashing the cake, riding a little horse...everything!! We left and realized that we didn't have the camera so I ran back there and it was GONE....I was digging through the garbage with crap all over my hands, bawling.... people where staring at me as I was looking through everything with tears running down my face :( Someone stole it. I had Keegans whole first year on that camera. I was heart broken, so was Chris. So that is why I don't have more pictures!! Chris did go out the next day and buy me another camera.... and I was thankful, but I will never get those pictures back.

Keegan had his one year appointment today!! I don't know who had a tougher time, Keegan or Riley. Riley had to leave the room when the shots were given, he couldn't handle listening to Keegan cry :(
Keegan is doing well. He is in the 70 percentile for everything...weight, height and head. He weighs 23 lbs and is 30 inches. We had three shots and a finger prick, he hated all of it. So did I. the Dr. said "All done" to Keegan and Keegan looked at him and said "DONE!" I think Dr. Knudson was impressed!! Yay Keegs!!!
I would have some pictures to post of his birthday but we just got a new camera and I am not sure how to download the pictures yet, I will figure it out soon!

I am sorry for the lack in posts AGAIN! I am having some troubles downloading my pictures....and finding the batteries that were misplaced to get the camera to even turn on! Last Sunday we all jumped in the car and headed to the timberwolves game, it was the first game for Riley and Keegan! Riley was in heaven.... His new favorite, Kevin Love, gave Riley a 'fist pump' as we were standing nearly on the court, it might be one of the best moments in his life (so far) but the main reason we went to the game was to watch Rileys uncle (Chris brother) dance!! He dances after the first quarter for the beat squad...he was amazing and so talented! Sam was by far the star of the night!! I have tons of pictures of post from that day!!
This week is going to be a busy one...so excuse me now if I don't get to posting until next week!! Tomorrow we are leaving to head up to the cities to stay in a hotel for the boys birthdays!! Keegan turns 1 on Thursday and Riley turns 7 next Thursday....after a day of swimming we will head to Chucky-Cheese, the boys should have fun!!

Our basement is now a basketball court!! We have two big hoops so Riley can play more of a 'real' game! He is coming up with some amazing moves and is fun to watch but at times is a little annoying, with all the banging and yelling for him to watch out for Keegan it can be too much, but, I guess he is having fun and that is all that matters!!

Sorry for the lack in updates lately. We have been very busy lately....we recently bought a house in Nicollet and our days/nights/weekends have been busy unpacking and cleaning. We are starting to paint tomorrow! Can't wait for that to be done. The boys are so thrilled about the house, but it has been a rough week for little Keegan.....he took a tumble down the stairs yesterday and the day before that I accidently shut his finger in the dishwasher, his finger nail is barley hanging on, I am sure he will lose it by the weekend!!

Aren't I so cute?? It is so fun to see all of the new things that Keegan learns everyday! He loves shaking his head NO at you......he walks behind things.....he likes taking his pants or socks off....he likes finding any new toy to hit Riley in the head with! He is eating whatever we eat, some of his favorites are hot dogs, peas, pizza, pasta and any kind of bread!
Chris really wants us to get his haircut, I say ABSOLUTELY NOT. Chris went as far as getting a scissors and trying to cut it himself, Riley and I put a stop to that! He has a couple curls in the back and I want it to get a little shaggy first!
I went and bought a bunch of formula the other day, it kind of mad me sad because it will probably be the last formula that we buy :( He has started drinking 2% milk too! What a big boy...

Here is a picture of when they were healthy.....so this was probably taken three weeks ago! Ha! This picture was SO hard to take, I think it took ten times to get this pose. It was hilarious, I was laughing so hard at them! Keegan had another Dr's appointment yesterday and the final word is. Rota Virus, Upper Respiratory Infection AND Ear Infections.....as of today we are 4 days with a fever, but he is really happy when it stays around 101, compared to his 104.5. He isn't sleeping well now either...but it will be soon enough and he will be sleeping through the nights again! As for Riley, he is OK. He claims he doesn't feel good either, but that is only in the mornings when it is time to get up and get ready for school, go figure! I am not so sure what his deal is lately.....

Our house has not been a happy house the last couple weeks. Last week Riley missed 3 days of school AND his valentines party at school, I felt so bad for him. He had a sore throat, cough and then Friday spiked a fever or 102...by Sunday he was a new boy and ready to start playing again!! On Monday Keegan started in with the cough and runny nose, by Tuesday he just wasn't himself, he would follow me where ever I went and was crying, he had a temp of 102 so I decided to bring him to urgent care, they told me that he had rota virus and to keep a close eye on him. We got home from urgent care and Keegan just laid on the floor not moving, his temp got to 104 so I hauled him into ER, by the time we got there his temp was up to 104.4 already which was high for a little boy.....we spent 3 lovely hours there until they sent us home!! He isn't doing too much better today, still have a temp of 102 and crying and sleeping but hopefully by tomorrow we will have all gotten over this....we go to see Dr. Knudson on Friday for a follow up!! I am ready for a new week!!

Today Keegan is 10 months old. I am having a tough time with this one, my baby is getting so big. I wish I could hang onto this age forever. I called to schdule his one year appointment the other day, when they answered I hung up....I just can't believe that we are at that point already. He is a little character though, and a trouble maker already! Keegan loves dancing, he shakes his little butt and it is the cutest thing ever! Whenever he hears any music he starts dancing, then he claps...so cute!

These pictures were just taken a couple days ago, and are some of my favorites of him! He is wearing my t-shirt from when I was little, it has held up well in the last 28 years...but it is one of my favorites "International Falls, The ice box of the nation" and he looked adorable in it!

This is what I find Riley doing everyday after school....on the phone, with his Dad! He will sometimes sneak the phone and run into his room to call Chris at work. There are times when he calls Chris at least 6 times a day! I keep telling Riley to stop, so that is why he now sneaks the phone to his room to call him! I will ask him what they talked about and he tells me 'NOTHING' I guess it is a guy thing.....I will never know what my boys and their dad are talking about I guess, I will just stick to my cleaning and mind my own buisness!! :)

Keegan had his 9 month appointment today!!

Here are his stats:
Weight- 21 pounds and 9 ounces, 54%
Height- 29 inches, 59%
Head- 18 1/2 or 47 cm, 85%

Keegan has really slowed down with his weight and height, I thought for sure he would be taller....I know his Dad was really hoping for a TALL basketball player. His head is not surprise to me. The Dr. said that his head took a big jump, and it surprised her how much it grew. I told her she should see his Dad and brother, she said then it made sense! Rileys head used to be so big it was almost off the charts...at one time I remember them saying that if it got any bigger they possibly would check for a brain tumor....HA, wasn't funny then, but it is now to look back at!!!

These aren't the best pictures, but the only ones I could get with him smiling!! He looks like such a big boy with all of his teeth! He finally stopped witht he army crawling and is pretty much up on all fours and getting into anything!! He loves to get into the TV, he will crawl up to it and turn around right before he is about to touch it and look at you with his little smirk like "I know I am not suppose to be doing this" and then you tell his NO and he laughes at you!!! He goes in this Thursday for his 9 month checkup (even though he is almost 10 months!!) so I am sure I will post with his stats!!

Riley is doing well too, got his report card last week and it is no surpirse how well he is doing!! Keegan is going to have some tough shoes to follow. Riley is in his first play on Friday, I am SO EXCITED to go and see it!!! GO RILEY!!

The boys and I took advantage of a nice winter day today and played outside and built a snowman!! It was very interesting....the eyes are made with grapes and the nose is a hotdog and his smile is some fritos! The snow wasn't as soft as I thought it was so it was a little hard to make the snowman!! Riley and I were building it and we turned to look at Keegan and he was facedown in the snow, I ran over there thinking he fell....well, he sat right up when I got there so I walked away to finish and turned around and there he was again, facedown. He would sit up and laugh, he must of liked that cold snow on his face, along with eating it. Towards the end of our adventure outside Keegan realized that after awhile, the cold hurt....so we finished up so Keegan could get inside and warm his little face and hands, Riley of course stayed out for another hour to play with some friends, he had enough 'MOM' time. I hope the weather can stay this nice for the rest of the winter!! Wishful thinking, I know!!

The missing piece

This little boy is the missing piece to our family, a piece that would make us a family of 5 and be complete. Chris, the boys and myself were shopping in Walmart one day and who do you think we passed? It was Carter. It was one of the most emtional days of our lives, to be standing so close to your son and not be able to do anything about it. And try to comfort your little 6 year old son who had tears streaming down his face because he wanted nothing more then to give his big brother a hug and mostly....introduce himself. This has been an emtional rollercoaster for all of us, Chris especially. We have been trying to get Carter in our lives for quit sometime, but because Carter was adopted by his Grandparents we aren't so sure it is possible to get any sort of custody and the way the legal system works it makes it that much more difficult. I know there is a lot of our family out there that is curious to see what Carter looks like, so I wanted to post this picture that Grandma Lisa found on a certain website....
There isn't a day in our house that we don't think about him and wish that he was here with us. Someday he will be with us, I am sure of it. It may take a little time, but I know in my heart we will be a family of 5.

On Christmas Day we noticed that Keegan has gotten his two bottom teeth!! And he is officially waving bye-bye now!! So cute! He is probably so confused by the whole deal because I make him do it all the time, constantly saying bye-bye to him...and he is no longer using his nuk. I am not sure why, but it kinda makes me a sad a little bit, I think they are so cute with that in their mouths and he seems to be taking more bottles without it, but I suppose it is easier now then it would be down the road!!

This year has been amazing!! I feel truly blessed for all that has happened in my life in 2008. Riley, as most of you know is in the first grade and doing amazing!! He is a math wizard, and from what I am told he takes after his Dad!! I still use my fingers to count! ;)

This last Summer Riley was a member of MAYBA, it is youth baseball through Mankato, that kept us very busy with two nights a week driving back and forth. I guess that is just preparing us for what is to come with him!

Riley continues to amaze us with how he interacts with his little brother. I was afraid with the age difference that he wouldn't want anything to do with Keegan, but Chris and I are always reminding him to not constantly have his hands on him!

Riley Howard makes us all so proud and I thank God everyday for that little man, he truly is something special and I do not know where I would be today without him!!

On April 9th, Chris and I headed into ISJ hospital in Mankato to be induced with our youngest child, Keegan Rick. He arrived at 7:20pm and was 8 lbs and 2 ounces, 21 inches long. It was a long day but it was all worth it! Keegan continues to make us smile and laugh all day! He is 8 1/2 months today and I still wonder where my baby went?!

Keegan was born a very content baby and still seems to be....he has been doing a good job with sleeping through the nights....he has given us a couple scares though. The first was when he got stepped on at two weeks and ended up with cracked ribs...WOW, the joys of parenthood, not a fun time!! He has recently been into the Dr. to be diagnosed with Impetigo, he pretty much looks like he has chicken pox all over his body....with all the sore, he still manages to be one of the cutest babies around!! I am glad we got that taken care of before the holidays!!

Chris is an Insurance Agent at AAA in Mankato, I think for the most part he does enjoy his job! He is great at what at what he does, and from what I hear....they have GREAT rates right now ;) Give him a call to get a free quote....(how was that honey?)

He is an amazing father and I love watching him with the boys....he will have such a huge impact on their lives, more then what he will know. Riley looks up to his dad so much and will stand by the door to wait for him to come home. After Chris leaves for work, Keegan will stare at the door and say "dada...dada" for about 20 minutes with the backwards bye-bye wave! It is cute!

As for me, I am happy. I have everything that I could want. I have two healthy boys, a healthy husband and great family surrounding me. I have recently changed my job and am currently working at ISJ hospital as a CNA, I work the overnight shift....11:00pm to 7:30am! I then stay home with the Keegan during the day and we wait for Riley at 3:15 to come home from school! I am so happy with what I do, I love helping people and just being there for them to talk to, to listen to them when they are scared and give them my hand and tell them everything will work out, it truly is an amazing job. After some talk with Chris, I think we have both decided it is time for me to go BACK to school....agh, after 10 years I will have to say that I am a little nervous, but it will be worth it! If all works as planned I will start the fall of 09 and and by 2012 will become an RN!

As you can see, 2008 has been good for us! And I hope for a great 2009 as well. I hope everyone a safe and happy holidays!!

A couple weeks ago I took the boys out to see Santa! They both did really well, no tears were shed! I was worried the most about Riley not wanted to sit on his lap, but he got right on there telling him all of the WWE stuff that he wanted for Christmas! Here was some pitures of Keegan when we had the first snowfall!! He LOVES being outdoors.....I can't wait to take him sledding! This morning when I went to drop Riley of at school I came back and walked in the door and he was in the entry way, he got really excited and said "MAMA, MAMA!!" and came crawling to me!! It broke my heart, my baby is getting to big to quick! Chris walked out the door and Keegan looked at the door and said "DADA" I think Keegan realizes now who is who!! Yes, I realize that this isn't a picture of Riley or Keegan. But it is a picture the cookies that Chris and I made at Bake day at his Mom's house in the cities on Saturday. Every year some of Chris' uncle and aunts come to his Moms and we make cookies all day....everyone has to bring two recipes and have to double the batch so everyone has some to bring home!! We started at 10am and I think the last of the cookies were done at 6pm, when everyone is done they are all displayed in the dining room and everyone goes around to sample all of the cookies...awards were giving out for, most original, best tasting, and most elegant, there was a surprise award given out for "BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME"
Jeff and Shelia Grunst won best tasting on two of there cookies, really I think we just gave it to them because they had so far to drive....
Dood Grunst recieved the award for most original on his Popcorn ball....YES, his popcorn ball, I was a little surprised too, again, I think he just got that one because he is old and they didn't want to hurt his feelings.
Better Luck Next Time went to Kathy Krohn....her cookies were simply just horrible, but dont tell her that...I think we all choked them down and then drank some Vodka straight from the bottle right afterwards to get rid of that awful taste!!! ;)
And of course there was no surprise when Chris and I won the award for "MOST ELEGANT"
we just simply know what we are doing when it comes to baking cookies!!
It was a fun day, I think I ate too much but it was all worth it!! Keegan was an amazing baby, I dont think we heard a peep out of him all night, he did fall in love with his Grandpa Stan...Stan has the magic touch when it comes to babies I guess...he held him and he feel asleep...it was so precious to see those two together...so a BIG thank you to Stan, for being my babysitter all day!! It really means a lot to all of us Hulkes.....
And of course Riley had a ball too, I think Chris and I saw him 5 minutes the whole day. He had his Uncles Seth and Sam to play with and his cousin Gage.....they have a Wii so of course they were glued to that like we were glued to the Vodka bottle after eating Kathys cookies!!

Aghh...I know it has been awhile since I have last posted and I am sorry for that. I went out on Saturday night and got yelled at by Nikki Thompson for not updating everyday, so Nikki this one is for you!! It is so nice to hear people tell me that they read my blog, I sometimes worry that I am blogging and no one reads it besides Chris and myself! So thank you Nikki!!! :):)
The boys are doing great. Riley has had some attitude lately, I am thinking it comes with his age...but all of a sudden Mom is not the coolest person on earth, in fact, I may be the last on the list! Dad is still high up there, but Chris loves to get down and wrestle with him....Riley and I try, but it hurts...Riley is a tough little guy and I am just a wimp I guess!!
Keegan is learning and experiences all sorts of new things. He isn't a big fan of his high chair anymore, and he doesn't seem to like baby food either. But what he does love to do is sit on the floor and to eat Corn puffs, string cheese, gerber puffs, potatoes, scrambled eggs, stove top stuffing, potatoe salad, macaroni salad....and the list goes on!! I told Chris today maybe we don't have to buy baby food anymore, Keegan wants the REAL stuff!!!
He is getting better and closer at crawling, he can't get up on all fours yet but he does the army crawl really well!! He laughs at about anything you do and can't keep his eyes off of his Dad or brother. I think about how quick these last 7 months went and am hoping the next 5 slow down, I don't think I am ready for my baby to grow up! And I am not ready to have a 7 and 1 year old......that makes me sound really old, doesn't it!?!?

Look at me, I can stand!!! Ok, not really :) If we stand him next to things he will hold on for a minute or two but is pretty shakey!! Keegan is not close to crawling yet, which is fine with us!! The sooner he is crawling, the sooner we are baby proofing!! BUT, he is rolling everywhere gets into any cord he can find!! Riley never really crawled either, he rolled everywhere, so that is what I am expecting from Keegan as well!!!!

This was fun but messy!! I think the end results turned out pretty good!! I was so excited to make my pumkin seeds too!! But wouldn't you know, I forgot to take them out of the oven....all I had in the end was a stinky house!!

This last Sat. I got together with 5 of my girlfriends from High School....and our kids! It was a lot of fun...not sure how much time we actually had time to talk with chasing after 8 kids, and one more on the way!! We decided next time that we are going to leave the kids with their dads and the girls are going to have a few drinks instead! The kids in order are....Jacob, Robbie, Keegan, Carlie, Kylinn, Finley, Riley and Easton! What a great bunch of kids, thank God none of them are like their Mothers....

Yesterday Keegan had his checkup!! He isn't as big as I thought he was...and actually, Riley was bigger at 6 months then Keegan is, but, Keegan is taller! Right now Keegan is 18.6 pounds whichs puts him in the 70% and Riley was 19 lbs even....Keegan is 27.5 inches which puts him in the 80 % and Riley was 27 1/4.....it is interesting to see how they compare with each other!! Over all Keegan is looking pretty good, he said that he is perfect (which we already knew!) He said Keegan has one little concern that he needs to keep and on but other then that he is a strong little boy and a very little laid back baby! I will post pictures soon, I am having some problems downloading, so be patient!!

My Biggest Boy!!

Since I made a big deal about Keegan being 6 months, today I am going to make a big deal about Riley. Today Riley is 6 1/2....WOW, 6 1/2 seems so old! Riley is an amazing little boy, he is doing awesome in school, we got his progress report sent home last Friday and I am proud to say that he is doing Excellent in everything! He has spelling tests every Thursday and brings home the results on Friday, it is very rare that he will have one wrong. He is amazing with his little brother and watches over him very carefully. Riley makes us so proud and I can't wait to watch and see what this year brings with him!

This last week was Nicollets homecoming! Riley was very excited to dress up all week....and Friday have BLUE hair! I took the boys to the football game Friday night (which they won!!!) And we ran into his little friend, Tayler! Taking this picture of these two was like pulling teeth with Riley, he is sooo shy and especially in front of Tayler! Pretty sure someone has their first crush......

So I don't have any pictures to post right at the moment, but I will make sure I put some 6 month pictures on tomorrow! It is so hard to believe that Keegan is 6 months, time flies by so quickly! He is getting to be such a big boy, he says da-da now....pretty sure he doesn't know that he is actually saying it, but I do know that it sure makes his Daddy proud. He was trying so hard to crawl today, I put one of his toys in front of him....oh did he scream at me because I wouldn't just pick the toy up and give it to him, it took him awhile but he finally made it to the toy, such a mean mom I am!! Again, I will post pictures soon.....

If you click on this picture and make it bigger you can see Keegans eyes are half way open!! Yes, that is how he sleeps half the time. It is actually a little freaky.....the first time I saw it I didn't realize that he was even sleeping and if you continue to watch you can see his eyes rolling behind his head and move around!! I have had to worn a few babysitters that it is normal and he isn't having seizures!!

I was having issues with our computer....so sorry for the delay in posts!!! I love this picture of Keegan, his facial expression is priceless! If you notice and recent pictures, the kid never smiles for the camera, if someone is talking to him and making him smile then I can get one from the side, but I MAYBE have two pictures of him smiling in 6 months....weird baby, must be a Hulke ;)

Three people where taking pictures of these four, and I think all three of us got 10 pictures of the same pose, only their heads turned slightly in each photo!! This was the best one in my bunch!! Keegan had baptism this last weekend and of course, we forgot to bring the camera to the church. Here it is!! I love this tattoo.....but it hurt so bad. I think I even said in the process that I would rather go through labor and delivery again, I must have been drinking, huh? It was well worth it in the end! I think it looks so good!!

Today was Rileys first day of Sunday School!! He was super excited, he even came home and said that it was better then 1st grade! He told us how God made everything....but Riley claims that he can make things too because he has special powers! I guess we should start calling Riley....GOD!
